It's been three weeks...

There you have it, three weeks of being 'between opportunities' as a good friend said last night while we were meeting for our end-of-year celebrations. I toasted to that, feeling relieved and somewhat anxious thinking of it.
Since my last day, I've experienced a wide array of emotions, recognising that I was unhappy for a long time and couldn't make it work despite giving my all for 1.5 years. It felt like I was a round peg in a square hole. Although I had a lot to offer, the right opportunities and projects never came my way. So, I had to make the move to preserve my sanity!
I do miss my team, a remarkable group of four extraordinary women whom I had the pleasure of getting to know. They excel at overcoming design challenges every day! However, I realised that I couldn't contribute any more value since they were on a positive path and no longer needed my guidance or support. It was time for me to focus on myself.
Now that I've had the chance to explore job opportunities, engage in online training, and spend time with my husband and kids (which feels like a blessing at this time of year, for which I am thankful), I am dedicating time to deeply explore my feelings and aspirations as a designer. I've always given my best effort to every job, regardless of its size, approaching each one with child-like excitement and enthusiasm. Over the years, I've delivered outstanding work and had the opportunity to contribute to amazing projects. I've worked with companies like Coca-Cola, Anglo American, Nando's, Bubs Australia, and Best&Less, among others, and I have cherished my journey. However, I feel it's time to concentrate on the areas where I excel and what I truly enjoy doing.
So this is what I know;
Hello! I'm Linka, and I possess a sharp sense for colour and composition, along with a strategic approach to brand strategy and asset development. I enjoy analysing a client's needs, considering all touchpoints, and figuring out how they will align. Every customer requires a strong 'brand presence' in their industry; they must differentiate themselves from competitors by clearly communicating their offerings and how they can address their customers' needs or solve their problems.
Whether it’s printed materials, electronic or online collateral, social media assets, templates, presentations, email campaigns, event signage, packaging, vehicle branding, or spatial design advice (like choosing wall colours or setting up your background for Teams or Zoom calls), consider the entire customer journey. I enjoy envisioning how all these elements can coexist harmoniously and devising a comprehensive plan!
Each company has a product offering, and finds itself as a crossroad at some time... Need a new brand and someone to help think of how that looks or have something that is a little dated and needing a refresh or #brandupcycle
... that's where I come in. You're 'missing' link... Your 'a' to 'b'
Now that I have clarity, I am going after it!
